Flash Fiction

Every two weeks writers have the chance to take part in Soliloquies Anthology’s Flash Fiction contest. We publish a new single-word writing prompt as a starting point and you write a story in 300 words or less. Our Media Editors choose one submission to be featured on our website.

As we prepare our print publications, our Media Editors meet again to judge the best of the best. They choose one Flash Fiction winner who will work with an editor and have their story published in our next print edition.

Submissions must be no more than 300 words of original fiction, and must be inspired by our prompt in some way. Authors are allowed one submission per prompt, though you may submit again to a new prompt with a new piece. Incomplete submissions or submissions that do not comply with these guidelines may be discounted.

How to submit
Email your submission as a .docx attachment to soliloquies.flashfiction@gmail.com. Label the document with the title of your piece, and do not include your name or any personal information in the document. All of our submissions are read blind. Along with your name and contact information, please provide a 50-70 word third-person bio in the body of the email. The author of the winning submission will have their bio published alongside their work.
